Tillie is an example of an amusement park "fun face". The Palace Amusements building was in operation from 1888 to 1988. When the building was slated for demolition in 2004, a Save Tillie campaign was launched to save the murals. The left-side Tillie was saved, but the right-side was lost along with the Palace itself.
